This role has been developed to support the delivery of our Higher Apprenticeship Programmes and Diplomas. The successful candidate will work alongside the senior management team to carry out assessment work associated with our apprenticeship and diploma qualifications. The successful candidate will have experience in assessing up to (and including) a Level 5, and a good understanding of quality improvement processes. The most suitable candidate is someone that is passionate and curious about delivering high impact programmes and someone that enjoys supporting others to develop and grow in their professional journey.

Role Overview:

  • Based at: Home (Remote)
  • Role Type: Part Time (15-20 hours per week)

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Administration of the learners within their allocated caseload. In this respect, you will:

  • Complete all “on programme” paperwork in accordance with ESFA funding guidelines ensuring minimum error risk.
  • Ensure all completion paperwork is correctly signed off and returned to the main office within an acceptable timeframe.

Assessment, coaching and invigilation of learners on apprenticeship and diploma qualifications up to (and including) a Level 5. In this respect, you will:

  • Induct all learners onto their appropriate programme of study. 
  • Create, agree and review assessment/learning plans for each learner. 
  • Collate evidence of teaching, learning and assessment using the e-portfolio system (OneFile).
  • Maintain regular (monthly) contact with learners using a variety of communication methods. Ensuring a record of all contact is maintained and evidenced for compliance. 
  • Use a variety of assessment methods to collect evidence ensuring the evidence collected meets the standards set out by the qualification and provide the learner with detailed feedback on performance. 
  • Create a range of inspirational learning resources required for your learners to generate evidence against the required criteria of the apprenticeship programmes you deliver. 
  • Carry out regular knowledge, skills and behaviour assessments with the learner and their employer to monitor and measure progress, identify any issues/problems and recognise success and good performance. Reviews will include the delivery and monitoring of Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, PREVENT and British Values.
  • Conduct all tests, and assessments in line with the awarding body guidelines.
  • Coach, support and prepare the learner for the End Point Assessment (EPA) conducting, mock tests in all elements of the EPA. When appropriate gain agreement with the learner and employer that the learner is suitably trained to undertake the EPA. 
  • Provide support and signpost information, advice and guidance for all learners through and situation or circumstance whether pastoral or professional.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all relevant documentation and records relating to learners’ training and progress.

Other Important Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with organisations to identify service improvement projects embedded within apprenticeships.
  • Take proactive measures to motivate learners to achieve qualifications in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in impact assessment work.
  • Participate in standardisation meetings, as required.
  • To ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are carried out whilst observing candidates in their workplaces.
  • Pro-actively engage with employers and update them of learners’ progress on their courses.
  • Work with supervisors to develop performance plans.
  • Contribute positively to the Social Enterprise goals of the organisation.
  • To promote the company as a quality training provider.
  • Support and communicate effectively with colleagues across the business.

Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Experience assessing to a Level 5 (and lower levels).
  • A1 or equivalent assessment qualification.
  • Basic teaching qualification, such as the Level 3 Teaching Award.
  • Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience of undertaking formal employee assessment in the workplace. 
  • Experience of assessing against NVQ or similar competence-based frameworks. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of IV and QA practices.
  • Strong aptitude to learn and develop own knowledge and skills.
  • Able to prepare and deliver training sessions in vocational area. 
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse range of students and manage their assessment. 
  • Ability to enthuse students to aid retention and achievement. 
  • Able to give constructive feedback for students and keep effective records. 
  • Able to work within a target driven environment e.g., focusing on learner end dates and achievement rates. 
  • Experience of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Professional experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent command of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Strong communication skills in a remote working context, along with the ability to utilise online platforms to enhance/aid communication.

Skills/Qualifications Preferred:

  • IQA qualification.
  • Experience of using the OneFile platform.
  • Experience of assessment on apprenticeship programmes.
  • Experience with working with a wide variety of care and support needs.
  • Knowledge of appropriate apprenticeship standards.
  • Experience of BKSB.
  • Understanding of Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
  • Full driving licence and own transport.
