  • Use antecedent/ behaviour/ consequence charts to enable them to put in strategies to minimise incidents of challenging behaviour
  • Record incidents confidently and factually
  • Use a range of techniques for managing “difficult” situations – Positive reinforcement, Modelling, Cueing, Shaping and Environmental
  • Make appropriate use of supervision and support following an incident
  • De-escalation techniques
  • Personal safety
