Level 2 – 6-12 Months
This qualification is the basic care qualification that is expected from any one supporting adults within the health and social care arena. It is a level 2 and therefore is suitable for all front line staff. The course will be assessed in the work place and will require 3 – 5 front line observation of practice over the duration of the qualification .
The course will be delivered over an E learning plat form and will include face to face contact with an assessor. A range of methods will be used to collect a portfolio of evidence and this will include:
- Workbooks
- Work Products
- Witness Testimon
To achieve the full Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England, learners must achieve a minimum of 46 credits. To do this they must achieve:
- 24 credits from the mandatory units in Group A
- 22 credits from the optional units in Group B and/or Group C – a minimum of two credits and a maximum of seven credits must be achieved from Group B, a minimum of 15 credits must be achieved
from Group C. Pathways are available in Leaning Disability and Dementia Care. However this is a versatile qualification and has a range of units that can be selected to meet the diverse range of roles that support our social care sector.
